No sailing last weekend, but we were able to hold another Yacht Club party. Thanks to all who helped make it another fun event (especially Mark and Kristin Ebeling and some in-law named Charlie). Hopefully the party attendees had the honor of meeting Hank Anderson’s special VIP guests before they had to suddenly leave the premises to attend another event……..if not, I’m sure Hank would be happy to re-introduce them to you, if he can remember their names and what they look like!! The early Sunday morning storm made for a crazy cleanup scramble, but Mark and Charlie showed up to make it all right.

INTERLAKE REGATTA REMINDER……….As I mentioned in last week’s newsletter, team qualifiers for each fleet are highlighted in the Racing Results section of the website. Each of you Fleet Captains needs to contact your fleet’s qualifiers to determine which ones will be attending. If some or all of the qualifiers can’t make the regatta, just work your way down the list place-by-place until you get a team of five. Remember, any fleet member can attend the Interlake Regatta at Lake Okoboji, but only the team members will count toward the team championship when the regatta is scored.

WEBSITE MEMBER INFORMATION……….CLYC members can now log into the CLYC website to privately access member contact information. Just click on the “Member Login” at the top of the home page of the website, enter your email address, and your last name (in lowercase letters)………and, voila, a list of members will be displayed. Click on a member’s name in the list and their contact information will appear. Thanks to Stu Oltrogge for continuing to improve the functionality of the website.

GLSS REGATTA REPORT……….Ana Starbeck and George Long made the trek this past week to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin trailing their X Boats (and probably some friends and family) to represent our X Fleet in the annual GLSS Regatta. 58 boats raced five races, and, after finishing in the second half of the fleet, George and Ana have that much more experience under their belts.

MC INVITATIONAL REGATTA……….is this weekend at Lake Harriet in Minneapolis. The lake should be full of boats, because at least 42 boats are registered to race. Our MC Fleet is sending five representatives to experience the shifty winds and no waves of Lake Harriet. So good luck to Byron Beasley, Emily Oltrogge, Stu Oltrogge, Mark Tesar and Todd Tesar.

OPTI REGATTA RAFFLE DONATIONS STILL NEEDED……….Julie Lundberg has received several donations of new or gently used sailing related items for the August 1 Opti Regatta Raffle, as well as some nice items not necessarily sailing related…….many thanks to the donors…………but more are needed. You can drop off items (or cash) you wish to donate at the Osmundson residence, 507 South Shore Drive or at the Lundberg residence, 1525 South Shore Drive, Unit F.
